Portraits
For my final project, I shot portraits of my friends and family. I tried to make each portrait include something unique about the person in it. In total I took 5 rolls on 400 speed film, 36 exposures each. I ended up shooting about one and a half to two rolls on each model. The final project consists of 10 prints, two of each model, and I decided to mount photo of each person. The first model, Alissa, is a friend of mine who is majoring in music composition so I took pictures of her working on her own piece of music. The second model, Tracey, is my younger sister. I took pictures of her showing her unique style and love of facial piercings. The third model, Ethan, is my nephew. He is pictured holding his favorite hat, as well as drawing with sidewalk chalk. The fourth model is my niece Cathryn. She loves drawing so I shot her drawing with sidewalk chalk. The last model is my friend Ashlee. She has two horses, which she loves dearly so I decided to shoot portraits of her with them.
Overall the biggest challenge was, as always (at least for me), lighting. Having taken the portraits in several different conditions, I tried to maintain the values to my best ability, and I am proud of the result.
